Meet the Maker

Hi! My name is Hayley, I am the owner and creator of Wattle Ceramics. I am 24 years old, I live in a small beach town in Australia called Red Head with my little pottery studio in our garage. I have been doing pottery now for about four years after first starting lessons at a local arts centre. I completely fell in love with the art of pottery and started posting my creations to my social media, and I started to receive messages from people that were interesting in buying what I was making. Not long after, the demand began to grow. I created a business account on Instagram, spent way too long deciding on a name and there, Wattle Ceramics was born.

My goal as a small business and an individual is to highlight the importance of shopping sustainably and supporting the little guys. As one of those little guys, it means a lot. We live in a world with far too much single use, mass-produced items, and I hope to contribute to a world where there is a more conscious thought about what you're buying and the hands that made it. I have been completely blown away by the amount of love and support I have received within the small business community. There are so many amazing people that have supported me from day one and have encouraged and pushed me to be the best I can possibly be. So, to all those of you that helped at any point along the way, (you know who you are) thank you.
